Condition:  Good condition. Home dyed fabric. Some light fading on the green. A slight bleed in the red.

Origin: Hagerstown, Maryland

Comments: Initialed in two corners DE and LE. In the quilting. 100% cotton fabric.

 antique quilt  1880's Saw Tooth Square Quilt

Condition: Very good condition.

Size: 83" X 85"

Origin: Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

Comments: This is a great example of a saw tooth square design. The center design is unusual for this pattern. Notice the outer saw tooth boarder is not symmetrical. This adds to the folk art quality of this quilt. It may have been her first attempt at a very difficult pattern.

  1854  Burgoyne Surrounded

Condition: Very Good Condition

Size: 80" X 92"

Origin: Ohio

Comments: This is a treasure of a quilt. This small scale Burgoyne Surrounded pattern has a wonderful star and eagle border. The quilt is dated July 1854. It has two sets of initials, J V W and T D A, a quilted horse and hearts. The fabric is a dark indigo calico print set on a white background.
